I don't get it...was there a question here? Or something else that you wanted to add?

The post is mean to show this technique of SEO.

Targeting ONE keyword or key phrase optimized for the entire site.

Some of these site has very high PR with very few links
I checked the backlinks on some and they have a lot, hence the PR (Google do not show all back links).

However, this is the sort of backlinks issue that Janeth mentioned in another thread ie multiple links coming from the same site - may not have affected their PR, but what has happened to their ranking.

CBP

BTW - didn't I come across your same message in another forum?

That is what confused me too. I didn't understand what he meant by "very few links" at all. I started in on some of them, and same thing...tons of em. Of course I did not go thru them all.

Then I went in to check on these targeted keywords, although I do not know what the targeted words are. It would of helped if someone would tell me what the targeted keyword was to search for so that I can find them, eh?

So -- I took one out of the middle of the pack "car-truck-bumpers.com" and typed in "car truck bumpers" into Google, and sure enough...number one. Wow!

Then I did just plain "car bumpers" & "buy car bumpers" & "truck bumpers" & "buy truck bumpers"...nada...nil...nothing.

So it does appear that these sites indeed are optimized for just a single targeted keyword (keyphrase?) throughout the entire site alright.

Which isn't that hard to do if you pick the right keyphrase, and include it in your domain name, but how many people are going to type in "car truck bumpers" when they're likely to be looking for one or the other but less likely to want both?

In this area, there are two domains like that: ottawa-psychologists.com and ottawa-psychologists.org. Now if you type in "ottawa psychologists" they of course both rank pretty high but over a range of keywords likely to be used to search for counselling or psychological services in the Ottawa area, overall they don't do so well.

My point is there is some value in restricting the keywords/phrases and optimizing on those but perhaps a single word or phrase is overdoing it, unless the majority of people who are looking to find you or your competitors is going to use that particular word or phrase - and if you guess wrong, you may have a problem.
