We have just built a site www.houstondiet.com for a doctor who prescribes diet pills, along with other medical services. Due to the spammy nature of anything relating to online pharm, could it hurt me to link to this site? This is NOT an online business; he only sees local patients who come to his office.

I'd be inclined to say no, it wouldn't. It doesn't look like it's pushing any of the usual suspects (Viagra, Cialis, Levitra, Phentermine, Bob's Ultimate Weekend 48-Hour Concocted-in-a-Basement-Lab ***** Stiffener), so I'd say you're safe.

Mind you, I looked at it from the standpoint of a reasonable human being, and others may not. I say put it up and if people complain, take it down (I had to once with a site in my portfolio because of the industry it was involved in, even though it was ethically okay in my view.)

I was more concerned about a possible Google penalty for being grouped with this subject matter.

jacob, I can only tell you that one guy over at Warriors had such a site and he got kicked out of Google big time. But a link? Adam could well be right, I personally would not take the risk, after all it's only one link, and doubt must be there or you would not have posted.
