Google forgot about webmaster guidelines for their own sites

I was looking at different blogging software programs today and I was very disturbed to find that Google's Blogger software doesn't let you back out of the site. Ranked #1 for Blog, you actually have to scroll through your back button to get out of the site, clicking back multiple times wont get you out. This seemingly simple idea cause me much disappointment with the quality of this google owned site, and because of this single issue, I will not even consider using their software.

Maybe google should adhere to some common webmaster quality guidelines for their own sites, before they ever place any guidelines on sites they list in their search engine!

Blogger is a flop. It got too big too fast and I don't think they've really done anything with it since. The network is laggy and there are just so many useability issues with it that people are starting to drop it.

I've been looking into movable type, but its really expensive, especially for the business licenses. Do you have any recommendations?

Unfortunately I can't. I tried blogger but haven't tried any other blog programs. I have heard good things about Live Journal. If you are looking at one for your site, check http://www.hotscripts.com for numerous scripts that you can use (some free, some shareware, some full price).
