Is Google giving preference to "About Us" page?

Hey everyone, first post, so I apologize if this has been covered before.
I've seen that for my website Google seems to be giving ranking preference to my "about us" page. This seems strange to me because that page by no means has any more or relevant content than, let's say, the Home page of my site.
I have checked to see which of my pages Google has indexed, and it appears that everyone of them are there.
Now keep in mind, the site is fairly new (approx 2-3 months old), and that I am just getting out of the "sandbox" now, so maybe that is why we are seeing a listing for that page and not others. If you search for "utah poker club" in Google we are only coming up on the 4th page of results for it, and this appeared on Tuesday of this week. We are doing extremely well in the other engines for our desired keywords, but this is the only one I can find in Google. The website is http://www.bigslcpoker.com. Any comments will be greatly appreciated.

Your "About Us" page may be getting a boost in the rankings because there is a text link on the home page to the "About Us" page that includes keyword-rich text. The combination of the linking structure and the anchor text may cause Google to give it a boost in the rankings. Once you start getting significant inbound links to your home page, I would expect this oddity will go away.

My "About" page has always (3 years) been ranked the same as my home page (currently PR5) while other pages just as old seem stuck at 3 or 4. The about page does have a text link on every page while other pages are just in the Javascript menu, so that may be the reason.

The sitewide link is what's giving yout About page its PR.

Thanks for the responses. It's good to hear that it doesn't have something to do with the structure of the site and it's not something that will be too difficult to remedy.

Don't seek to remedy it by any means. The about page should be present on all pages and there should be no harm. Seek to get more links to more content rich pages, such as poker rules, poker variants, poker jokes, famous poker players, etc. This will soon pale your about page.

Also, have you considered, that probably only on the about page you have mentioned Utah in combination to Poker. That should give it some preference for this search term.
