Default Doing good penalty

Hi

I have a site in a competitive SEO environment, right now its no.1 on google, no.6 in yahoo and no.10 on msn, now i was reading somewhere that if you do too good(get to No.1) in more than 1 search engine then u are penalised , is it true?

or i am un-necessarily anxious

Never heard of that. Who told you that or where did you read it from?

That's one of the strangest rumors I have heard in some time! Logically, it makes absolutely no sense that I can dredge up.

The focus is, MORE RELEVANCY, diminishing Spam Site influence... not penalizing the good! No way, no how!

Now, "Doing Good" under Black or Gray Hat scenarios are another story, but after all "Doing Good" in the "shadows" isn't really doing good at all!

In a world where fiction is fact that is definitely fact.
What i am trying to say is: Argh! Where do people get these strange notions from?! The search engines arent out to get you, mostly they want to provide the most relevant results so as to increase their share of a competitive market. There are certain dos and donts but come on guys keep it sensible.

I rank number #1 on all SE's for "Luxury Sleep" and I am doing fine. I think people who claim this are getting penalized for other things they are doing to seo there site.
