Default Partial/rolling or the start of a new full PR update ?

Hi all!

A single huge newspaper site updated, no other PR changes (yet)...

I just noticed a major PR drop on a big washington newspaper site going from PR8 to 7 for the index and 8 to 6 for many inner pages...

Interesting that the backlinks went UP from 6k to 20k ! ... even tough the sharp drop!

that's the current DC results:

toolbarqueries.google.com 7
64.233.161.99 7
64.233.161.104 7
66.102.7.99 8
66.102.7.104 8
216.239.59.99 7
216.239.59.104 7
216.239.37.104 7
216.239.39.99 7
216.239.39.104 7
66.102.11.99 7
66.102.11.104 7
216.239.57.99 7
216.239.57.104 7
66.102.9.99 7
66.102.9.104 7
216.239.53.99 7
216.239.53.104 7

On the other hand - many other sites I checked remained constant - so far.

Is this a partial piece of a rolling PR update or the early start of a full re-numbering?

Anyone noticed a change as well?

thanks,jez

Default Strange Google

Here in Houston, I am 100% convinced that Google is doing different things (with a different algo, different PR amd different SERPS) on different data centers. I have tested this on over a dozen computers at different addresses, with people who are not related in any way. The differences have remained in place for weeks, so what I am looking at is not an update. Who knows what is going on at Google.

Ok ... I see...

I found 3 large newspaper sites dropping PR8 to 7 or even 6 and one skin care portal dropping 3 to 2 today...

changes, changes, changes, ... a test-drive for the next PR update?
