GoogleBot Frequency

Hi buddies

See buddies im getting the visits of GoogleBot on my site after about 5-6 weeks regularly and a friend of mine having a low PR site is getting crawled every 3-4 weeks .

Now my question is why the frequency of GoogleBoe vists vary and wats the normal frequency of GoogleBot Visits.

and also is there any kind of problem if the very first link on my site is external will it just distratcting GoogleBot from my site.
to the external site.

Wats ur opinion guys

Frequency is variable to page rank.

No external links don't distract google.

Generally, Google tends to crawl higher PR sites more often and sites that are updated more frequently more often ---- generally.

My site (wrongly but still) has a pagerank 8 and use to get up to a thousand hits by google a week. Now it gets about 20. Im not sure anyone truely knows how googlebot decides who to spider and how often. Almost seems random, like it picks URLs out of a hat. A very, very big hat. Possibly with a brim, possibly a tophat, possibly a bowlers hat. Mabye its even an old NCSU green bill cap, mines all nasty but they probably keep it in a clean room.
