Default Is Google localising more on IP since last update ?

My main site focusses on US customers due to the pricing being in dollars.
I used to (not long ago) get most of my traffic from Google.com (80% of google referers) and some from Google.co.uk (20% of Google referers).

Recently this changed massively ! It's actually the other way around (80% .co.uk traffic now) which has an impact on my conversion ratio (I guess UK customers prefer pricing in Pounds).

The site is hosted in the UK so I guess Google is putting more emphasis on IP localisation since the last update. anyone else noticed this ?
Should I move the site to one of my US servers and hope my google.com rankings get better ?
Anyone any experience moving country (IP) with respect to ranking impact etc ?

Thanks,
Mike.

Yes, I've heard quite a few people mention that they're now localizing traffic. So, since your site is hosted in the UK you are probably going to get more UK visitors--since your site is probably now "outranking" other sites hosted in the USA.

What I would do is change your prices to Pounds (if you can accept UK orders) and open up a new site (hosted in the USA) that has US Dollars. That way you would mazimize your current rankings.

Or, switch your hosting company so the site is hosted in the USA.
