Default DMOZ listing

Anyone find a consistent way to get a listing in DMOZ?? Especially if the category you are trying to post to has no editor. It seems so hit and miss to me and I was just wondering if anyone has found a consistent method to get listed in DMOZ.

First, make sure your site will add value to the directory - as in it has original and unique content.

Second, find the best and most specific category for your site. Submitting to the wrong category just delays the process since the editor of the first category will have to move it to the correct category. And for the same reason, don't submit to a parent category, if the child category is more appropriate. Don't worry is no editor is listed, any editor in a category above can edit there.

Third, read the guidelines and submit a succinct, spam-free description.

Fourth, if your site has a regional aspect, submit in the regional category as well. It’s allowed and often it’s a quicker way to get into the directory.

Fifth, forget about it. You’ve done all you can do!

Good luck!

No category is without an editor.

Best advice to get listed is:
1) Have a site with unique and valuable content that adds value to the category
2) Find the one best category
3) Write a guideline compliant title and description
4) Submit ONCE to that ONE category
5) After one month, ask at http://www.resource-zone.com if the site is waiting (tech problems do happen) - PLEASE read the guidelines there first.
6) Forget about it - there is nothing more you can do; spend your time on other forms of promotion; don't obsess over DMOZ.
