Default How often does google crawl a new site?

My wife and I launched a new site, www.pro-gift-baskets.com around the end of December 2004. The site is still under development and is located on a shared server until then. We have only managed to get a couple of IBL's so far. It seems google is indexing our all of the pages every 2 weeks. What boogles me is it is indexing my home page every day? Is this normal?

The only reason I ask is in my research on organic rankings with my current employer and his competition, I have found a few competitors which are not indexed daily but show cached home pages 1-2 weeks old. The company I work for has done very well in all 3 major SE's and is indexed daily but has a PR 6. I would expect that from a PR 6 site with over 1000 inbounds but a new site with less and 3 IBL's?
