Default Do many outbound links negatively impact PR?

I have a site that sells promotional products. Since we represent many different suppliers, we have a page on our site that provides our site vistors a way to view supplier online catalogs for their convenience. This page, found at http://www.iconidentity.com/vipsuppliers.shtml, has several different "drop down" boxes with links to suppliers. Each drop down box has about 20 different links in each one. Since these suppliers are not linking back to us, will this have a negative impact on our PR?

ok- easy enough! :-)

One other question... Should all inbound links point to my homepage or would it help if they pointed to subpages that were relevant to where the inbound link is located? Does it matter?

You should always deliver your user to the page where your information resides. I don't know of too many websites that can fully explain what they sell or offer from their home page.

Regarding outbound links, this may help a bit...

May I add that when using outbound links, chose the link text carefully. Dont use the domain name or the Company name alone. Use a very short description, and see if you can use *your* keywords for it.

So if your site is about "beer" and you link to an overview of breweries in ... ummm ... let's say Hongkong (dumb example, I know):

Dont use
Code:
hnkngbeer.cn
or even worse
Code:
Hongkong Breweries: click here

but instead use
or maybe better

To cut it short: Use meaningful link text, preferably with your keywords in it (if it makes sense, of course).

And I would consider to abandon the dropdown boxes. Use normal lists, group them and write one ore two descriptive sentences for each group. Your site will gain in usability and have better content (at least for the spiders). What do you want more?

hth,
Alex

RichardS: Although german *is* an alien language (lol), would you be so kind and provide me with some info: Browser, Version, OS and - if I am asking not too much - a screenshot? Please mail me at redaktion@wiesentbote.de

Your help is appreciated - we are about to develop a sort of international version so we better get some input from non-german visitors ...

Thank you very much,
Alex
