I am amazed. I have a forum on my website, and so far no one has posted anything on it except for me. I got tired of talking to myself, so I asked my web host to remove it, but he never did. Then, bored by the constraints of cold, wet weather, I got to thinking about a blog, so decided maybe I just might use my forum to create a blog.
The first and only post I've made so far in my blog (Flying Fingers) was a statement of my opinion on the current Social Security issue here in the United States.
Within 24 hours, my stats showed a dramatic increase in bot and spider popularity. The Forum on my website became very interesting to the Googlebots. Yesterday, I had over 16,000 hits on it, and today 19,502 hits. That's truly a record for my narrow-niche site. Would anyone care to theorize on this sudden popularity of my forum by the Google bots? I even had a couple of strange new visitors spidering my whole site, using Missigua Locator software. Does anyone know for sure what this "critter" is?
(For those of you who have visited my site and perhaps followed the slow but steady ascent of my website page rank, I was delighted today to find that my site is indirectly #1 in search results on Google (by listing in a directory). My website listing with Google has also been moved up to page 3. Things are looking up. I might even take the time to add more music to the site.)
