Default Any Google Explanation?

Go to google and do a search for "Massage Tables"
NOTICE: mtswarehouse #2 spot

Now search "Massage Tables -anyrandomsetofletters"

The Site mtswarehouse disappears from the competition. Any reasonable explanations for this?

The answer is simple you are searching for different things.

I can do a search for "orange" and get completely different results then from "orange juice"

or simply by adding an "s" at the end of a search word you get different results.

What i'm saying is this.

Massage Tables
is different from
Massage Tables -anyrandomsetofletters
or
Massage Table
or
"Massage Tables"

You can optimize for different variations of your keywords but if no one is searching for Massage Tables -anything, then it really doesn't matter.

If your asking this question just to know why your site isn't listed under "Massage Tables - anyrandomsetofletters" then anyone here is only speculating on what it could be. Only google knows for sure why your site isn't listed.

SEO is a speculation in itself -

Im just looking for any suggestions for this behavior. We all know that massage tables and massage table are two completely different searches. Im not worried about my ranking b.c im @ the #1 spot. I'm just trying to further my understandings about google.

Would you ask yourself the same question? From a programming perspective: If I input Dog and Cat into a string and then exclude the word Fish... i will still have Dog and Cat.

I'm seeing different search results than stated. The results stay the same for me until a word contained in one of the sites is used eg: "massage tables -therapy".

I think that unless google finds an instance of the -'ed word, the serps wont change.

Indeed.
It shows 30,000 less results.
Could it be opposite of -asdf...?
Any non-dictionary random word. But what it additionally filters? Strange.

I have found some short time to play with it and I think it is a combination of some google shortcuts.
If you try individual letters you will notice that "-a" is the most powerfull filter.
Having anything to do with anchor?
Most "-a" results provide sites with no or very few OBL.

Does anyone know more about those shortcuts?

Hmmm, it could be simply that it removes sites having the article "a" anywhere in the page.
However it still doesn't explain why it removes the site mentioned in the first post with any combination.
