Default Weird Page Rank Issue

I got a weird problem going on at my site that maybe at least one of you is familiar with. If you go to http://www.top-affiliate.com you'll see my page rank is a 2. If you go to http://top-affiliate.com (w/o the www.) my page rank jumps to a 3.

Using the www. lowers my page rank but my internal pages are ranked higher. Check out these 2 links and look at the differece in page rank just from using www.

What's the difference? Doesn't make sense to me and I consider myself fairly intelligent

Resolved. Can't believe the www useor no use makes that much of a difference...I had assumed that was an inconsequential factor.

Google can see the page without and with the www as two seperate pages. It does that sometimes and usually resoloves it ..... eventually.

The other option is a 301 redirect from the non-www to the www page (I don't bother)

I use a website to check my page: http://www.top25web.com/pagerank.php They suggest that you put in the www to get better results. I have put our site in www.usamerchantsolutions.com and get a page rank of 4, sometimes 5, but without the www. I get a page rank of 3.

It's not quite as simple as that. Google's PageRank - a registered TM of google - is a measure in backlinks or inbound links on a scale of 0 to 10. 4/10 or 5/10 is average to good.
To PR you must add about 100 factors in G's alog. It will of course help with SERPs, but it all depends what search terms got your site on page 2...
