Default Need some help from Google experts please...

I love the artist Pink and I was thinking about bidding on this domain name... gopink.com

... but something does not make sense in Google search results here.

if you search for http://www.gopink.com/ on Google you get http://www.pinkspage.com/ listed in the results.

if you do a link:http://www.gopink.com/ on Google.... you get a bunch of pages pointing back to Pinkspage.com.

the domain is PR6 but is it just hijacking results from pinkspage.com?

Thanks for your help,

Without knowing all the details involved, it would be hard to pin-point exact details as to what is happening. I was not able to pull up the url in question (gopink.com). I did a whois and it's currently being held (as you're aware since you are going to bid on it).

It looks like they could just be doing a redirect to that page so that they can pick up the PR of that site, and then sell it at an inflated price. Remember, once you buy a domain, Google resets the PR back to "0", regardless of what the previous owner had for the site.

Thanks for the reply.

I think I'll stay away from this domain.

Do you know if the site gets Sandboxed after it transfers owners?

If you want to use that term, by all means, then yes, it will get "sandboxed" until you can prove that it's a legit site and content is relevant.

Try to never buy domains because of PR. All your doing is asking for troubles. Buy domains because you feel they will be good matches for your business model.
