If you're interested in "Everything you want to know about Page Rank and have been afraid to ask", take a look at the extremely exhaustive explanations and discussions provided by the webpages at

I can't begin to claim that I understand it all (or even that much of it!), but it does come across as a very authoritative account of what Page Rank is; what effects inbound, outbound, and reciprocal links have on it; and how PhD-ish the Google Guys are (and must continue to be) when they first "invented" the idea and are now constantly grappling with its implications.
The gurus hereabouts will, I'm sure, find it a most informative and useful addition to their reference libraries. And us mere mortals cannot fail, in my view, to recognize that our wails and groans about what we consider to be unfair treatment have to be softened by a realization that the whole thing is an unbelievably complicated calculation. Indeed, I have to say that I'm amazed that Google even knows my website exists, let alone is able to work out that it deserves a PR4!
