Years ago I started out with a URL http//www.starlink2000.com.
As time went by and I changed the purpose of the site and because I wanted to have more keywords in the URL, I ended up using http://www.starlink2000.com/ArchitectRemodelConsult.htm I then submitted both urls in different places and have achieved a certain amount of success. Recently, I purchased http://www.ArchitectAustin.com which is much better for now and I have provided a forwarding message and link(s) to my original URL which contains my site. Over the years, I have accumulated several different URLs all pointing to the original site as well. I am only hosting Starlink2000.com. to save $$$ hosting more than one URL at a time. Should I be consolidating all of these into one URL ie: ArchitectAustin.com and get rid of the rest and risk not being found or do I HAVE to host both at the same time and start submitting ArchitectAustin.com and then turn everything else off later? Does it really matter? LAST question.... If a URL is just being forwarded to my main URL, do the indexes find it even if it has no keywords or tags (Technically it is not being hosted)? Thanks for your time and trouble, Allen [/url] |

Hi sealeman,
If I were you I would consolidate everything together by using the server 301 permanent redirect: Visit http://httpd.apache.org/docs/mod/mod_alias.html for more info. Or try the search on google http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...anent+redirect Hope this helps Leo |
