Default DMOZ hijack in Google

Anyone done a site:www.dmoz.org search in Google lately?

For the last few days I am getting a whole first page of non-DMOZ sites that appear to have hijacked DMOZ???

I have emailed G and raised it internally at DMOZ

Hi cbp, if you search 'DMOZ'- it has loads of open directory enties all at number one. Who would search www.dmoz in the first place?

But a site:www.dmoz.org search should only show pages in Google's index of pages from DMOZ - what it shows are hijacks through redirects - check by clicking on some of the results and see what the sites are. Most of them are from two sites.

Hmmm another redirect problem. I guess that GG will fix this one soon.
After all DMOZ is a supplier, this kind of result doen't help anyone.

Yep - the second one - click on some of the links. Most of the ones go to Texas Trader, with affiliate links to Amazon and eBay .... very sneaky.

Sure, and most of them naturally use cloaking too. Look at the cache results.
However texastrader.com didn't benefit a lot - PR0.

site:www.google.com

One of the first results is a website translation. Is it legal to use google this way? :)
