How long does it take to get un-penalized?

Apparently Google started penalizing me for duplicate content on some pages. (I went from #1 to nowhere on those topics with duplicate pages.)

Now that I've fixed those pages with .htaccess , how long do you think it might take before I recover?

It really depends. It depends on how often their spider crawls your site--and that typically depends on the PR of your site and the pages.

I've seen sites recover with in a few weeks while others have taken longer to recover--a few months.
