Default Link Requester wants no "www" in his URL

I have a site we've linked with specifically request we drop the www in the URL. For instance (and I'm making this up) http://anysite.com. We have them listed as http://www.anysite.com.

Perhaps I'm just out of it--but I can't see a reason someone would want that dropped so badly. It works with the www attached...

Is this some trick we're unaware of?

Any help is appreciated!

Probably they have majority IBL pointing to root address, so they don't want to leak PR spreading around.

I also have a page which, for some reason, shows more targeted adsense ads on the non-www page, so I try to promote it too in that way.
I even had to use mod_rewrite to redirect all page requests to the non-www.

Activeco is right. Google views the www. and the non-www. as two separate pages. If you do a search here, you'll find several discussions revolving around this. No tricks.

Bottom line, whichever you use it's best to be consistent.

Default Mine doesn't change

That is interesting...

I have always had all my IBLs point to http://www.mysite.com; but I can either type it with or without the www, and both pages come up with the same PR and the same number of backwards links...I guess Google loves crafts! : )

I guess you have at least 24 links which point to your non-www MJ Crafts version.
And those were enough for your PR5 there too.

Google adjusts for the two pages....eventually. It's simply a good idea not to give them anything to have to adjust for.
