Default How do I get included?

Is there a free way to get included into Google? At one time my website would show up, but it won't anymore. Do I need to do pay-per-click to get listed?

Thank you!

Debbie

Welcome to WPW

Google is totally free. All you need is links to your site from sites already in Google and you are in (if you want to rank well, you wll need a lot).

Start with getting them from the list from Directories:

BTW - don't waste time submitting to Google

I've been going through the list and so far most of them are asking for money to get listed, or even attempted to list. What do I do? I don't want to pay. :-)

Thanks!

Debbie

Debbie, you can get free links in many different ways, link trades, free directories, forum signatures, etc.

Treat me like I'm totally dumb.

So I should do a search for areas I want to be in, and do link trades or post on their message boards?

Do you recommend search engine registration companies and what is a fair price?

Also, do you recommend pay=per-click

Thanks!

Debbie

SEO forums often have a subforum for webmasters to find other webmasters with sites with similar themes for exchanging links. You can find these with Google for example. There are even forums dedicated to trading links, like these two...

Also, when you find a good SEO forum, they will probably have several threads about directories, including free directories that you can submit to.

Oh yeah, PPC is a great way to get extra traffic, instead of hassling with SEO and hoping, you can just pay for the clicks and get the traffic. Results and cost will vary depending on popularity of keywords you bid on, and how much you bid.

Hi Debbie,
I agree with cbp's reply about adding your link to sites already in Google. It's not enough to just exchange text links with sites with high Google page ranks. Write an article related to your site's content, add your site's link and submit it to article-directories, and webmasters might use it on their site as 'further resources,' syndicate some of your site's content with RSS or blogs. The more your site's link appears on related websites, the more likely your site appears on the first pages of Google.

This blog article by Jack Humphrey entitled "Link to get traffic - not search engine rankings!" explains linking for search-engine ranking a little further. http://www.webmastertraffictools.com...gine_rankings/

Have a great day !

There are lots of free directories to get links from. Submit your site to those and if your budget will allow for it, you should consider the paid inclusion directories.
