Does links from .pdf and .doc files affects link popularity? I haven't seen a word about this anywhere on the web. But looks reasonable for me. This are just another type of indexed information providing documents. You may find such files mixed with web pages in the serps and even perform a filetype: search. So they are evaluated and calculated in search engines algoritms. Do you think that .pdf, .doc and other indexed documents pass PR?

Since google counts pdf files, word documents and other forms of information as part of their 8 billion page index, I would guess that they could pass pr.

If a document was referenced enough, G would probably interpret it to be something important.
