I have never really got into redirects. It just sounds complicated, like it's handled differently in different search engines, with potential for stuffups.
I have a site,
www.work-from-home-with-me.com, which used to be forwarded (through GoDaddy's forwarding) to a subdomain workwithme.free-marketing-help.com.
Then I got permission from my host to use their dns servers (they usually only allow 3 entries per account), and after stuffing around a bit, ended up having it point to workfromhome.free-marketing-help.com.
But when I go to google and search for "work from home with me" I get an old cached copy of the wrong version.
It also had a strange date in cache:
This is G o o g l e's cache of
http://workwithme.free-marketing-help.com/links.htm as retrieved on 31 Dec 1969 23:59:59 GMT.
How can I tell Google to get rid of all references to workwithme.free-marketing-help.com?
Or is there some kind of redirect I should use. And do I have to do it on every page of the old site? Which I have left on my host just in case. I have cpanel.
There are probably also a bunch of link partners who erroneously linked to the subdomain instead of the correct domain name. Guess I'll have to contact them individually.
I am also (foolishly) going to target just the phrase "work from home" instead of "work from home with me".
Competitive, I know, but I'm buoyed by my success with the phrase "get paid to read email" which I've been #1 at for the last few weeks.
Any tips welcome.
I have only a few months left to become internet independent, or else I'll have to get a job.
