Default The Worth of a PR6 "Domain"

I am in the process of switching domains for one of my sites.

The reason is that there will be a change in the format and content, and the current domain name does not fit to the new project.

The first thing that comes to mind is to use a 301 redirect to the new domain.

But what I am wondering is whether I should sell the site (or just the domain) completely and start the new project in a brand new environment.

The help I am asking for is:

How much should I ask for the domain of a PR6 economics site with more than 1000 visitors a day - with and without the content?

As you see, this can be a win-win situation for both the seller and the buyer.

I am aware of the fact that it would help if I gave the URL here, but I obviously can't.

I just want to hear your gut reaction..

Thanks!

You didn't provide any valuable data.
Does you site sell peanuts by a piece or airplanes?

What is monthly revenue? For how long? Does domain have natural type-ins...etc., etc.
The site is more like valuating a complete business.
You can't judge it by Google PR.

How long is a piece of string?

Having said that, I will give you some off-the-cuff stuff, so don't rely on it !!

It's worth a few thousand. Maybe more, maybe less.

But with a PR6 site, you can just keep it active, and any new project comes along, you can jump start it with a link from your PR6 site - this could give your new site a PR5. Or you could sell links from it.

And 1000 visitors a day, just putting ads on it could generate $0.50 per thousand pages, so lets say people visit at least 3 pages, then you will make $1.50/day, or $500 per year for little effort.

Some people reckon you should only pay about 1-2 years worth of gross income when you buy a business, so do the sums.

On the other hand, if it is a high-value keyword site you could make far more than $0.50 per thousand pages.

The only way to really tell is to put it up for auction, if you have no use for it, that is !

It's worth about $50.00. PM me and let's start the domain transfer and I will pay you via PayPal.

Haha! As has been said, a Google PR of 6 does not mean that much these days and it's quite difficult to place a value on just this "fact".

In regards to the 1000 visitors, can you provide more information? Demographics? Unique?

My homepage at the moment has a Google PR 5 but at the moment I get around 2500 unique visitors a day...

I would keep it if I were you. Like previous poster mentioned, it could come quite in handy, traffic and PR.
