Default Is Google loosing the all important "it"?

I have high respects for google and all the brains which have built this gaint organisation but lately I have been noticing some changes which I am not sure will help Google in the long run.

For one my adsense publisher account payment, the last two cheques have strangely been misplaced by the post [not once but twice]. Judging from a layman's view it seems the naturally accused is the post man who had no right juggling with his post while trying to drive. But look closer and it MAY just be that the cheque was never sent. Imagine a few million dollars in your account. Delay payments by one month and you get interest of almost a million dollars from the money which lies in the bank. Maybe you can divide the number of subscribers and make each group NOT receive their cheque in turns... Oh! they can wait.. I'll make a million first!!!

Now don't think I'm being rude... where almost every day hundreds of users are complainting about new payment methods Google still CHOOSES to be pre-historic about payments! Cheques! When probably the whole payment procedure can be done in a few days it takes months [two months approximately.. and if a cheque DOES not reach you then make that three months before you see the money in you bank account]

That's one... the second and probably more important is that lately I have observed a huge increase in traffic from Yahoo! Like before I would get more hits from google but now yahoo hits are more than double... Now surely something is going on!

Come to think of it.. if Overture opens up their sponsored ads section to publishers.. google may find it difficult to keep publishers... with the kind of procedures and policies.. I would anyday take up an Overture sponsored section and loose the google.

Anyone got any take on this?

I havent had any problems getting checks from Google Inc.

Ofcource it would be nice to get them quicker - but they stuck to their payment terms which is 30 days from months end.
