Default Google, Froogle & Product Search Results

I'm actually surprised someone hasn't brought this up yet, so I'm going to jump in. I've been participating in Froogle for quite a while, and I'm receiving some _great_ benefits off the side.

If you search for "Varsity Jackets" or "Leather Coats", you may notice that [right below sponsored results] the first set of results are "Product Search Results" within which are listed Froogle participating merchants (Of which, I am one). I now have top ranking for terms I have not even optimised for and at no cost.

All this is well and good, (heck, it's been great for me), but I still cannot determine what logic Google/Froogle uses to determine which merchant will be displayed on result pages. Has anyone found any logic here - it doesn't appear to be price, nor quantity - so I'm not sure what it could be (and I am definately _not_ complaining) - Just curious.

Cheers,

mark
