Ads by Gooogle = Higher rankings?
I have been following some sites recently and have noticed that since they have included "Ads by Gooooogle" on their site, their rankings have improved significantly. I don't like the thought of putting ads like these on my site but they really seem to boost site rankings. Has anyone else noticed this?

Welcome to WPW.
Its a coincidence. Participating in Adwords or Adsense has no bearing on the organic search results rankings. We have had numerous threads on this and Google reps have made statements to that affect.
I have seen sites go both up and down after both stopping and starting participation in Adsense or Adwords. I have seen sites go both up and down after I changed the cereal I eat for breakfast..... ie its a coincidence - other factors affect the rankings.

CBP is correct - Ads by Goooogle has absolutely nothing to do with natural search rankings.... This has actually been discussed extensively in most webmaster boards world wide....
It has been decided by extensive research that it has no effect at all...

Are you talking about Adsense or my choice of food for breakfast :-)

In your experience, cbp, which breakfast cereal would you recommend as the most effective?

What sort of SERPs boosts have you been getting with that concoction, Ken? Also, do you see a direct effect on PR as well?

Minstrel,
It would take me 2 or three days to list the top 10 SERPS for my clients (even as few as they are). Every client has top 10 SERPS (including #1) for competitive and non-competitive keywords/phrases.
Let's just do single keywords since they are the toughest!:
"DeSanders" - GOOGLE #1/5,920
"DeSilters" - GOOGLE #1/964
"Hydrocyclone" - GOOGLE #2/15,200
We could go on and on with singles, doubles and triples but.... It's not in the "Wheaties", it's the cranberry - almond with orange juice in the morning and the whiskey at night!

But see -- that's cbp's dilemma too -- how do we know if it's the cranberry, the OJ, or the whiskey?
I suggest an experiment -- one week with just one ingredient and evaluate SERPs, then repeat in a different order, and then a third time in a still different order, perhaps having someone else doing the data gathering on the whiskey weeks.

Minstrel,
I confess - Don't think I could go a week without the whiskey! Maybe 2 or 3 weeks without the cranberries at most! They sure were good during Thanksgiving with the Orange and Lemon Zest - OHHH, great stuff there, especially with the stuffing! Hope you had a good Thanksgiving... You should have seen my Rottweiller when I handed him the 20lb Turkey's carkess - Only once in a while in his short life (almost 1 year old) does he get that "SHOCKED LOOK" in his eyes!
You know... I have always had a problem when doing a Site Search here... 10 Billion returns come up every time... What's a guy to do..., Post again?

Now this is a thread I feel qualified to join! For me what works is decent French red wine and a wholesome organic diet. Since drinking a couple of glasses a night, my SERPS have shown significant and continuing improvements. Not these wild jumps often commented on by other members of WPW who I expect are fast food eating beer drinkers.

Now that is harassment, plain and simple... not that I'm one of those fast food eaters... no wait, I mean not that I'm one of those beer drinkers... no wait...
That's just harassment, plain and simple, Simon...
No wait... "Simple Simon"? I used to suck at that game...

It must have been the beer
(how do you get these 'quote' things to work...It must be the wine, or lack of it, anyway, this is England, therefore it is well past going home time and time for refreshing glass of el vino)

I kinda get the feeling this thread has sort of wandered off into the weeds somewhere. But then I always feel lost anyway.

I believe we all agree the question was answered in the first post and we are just joking around.

Ken,
I see that in your current forum picture the parrot is no longer on your shoulder. Are you certain it was the turkey carcass?

tcampione,
It's a good thing that I don't have to go into an office:
5 cats (Toms to snake the property)
6 Parrots (Completely useless but good company)
7 Chickens (To help feed the other animals protein)
1 dog (to help guard the mess)
Almost sounds like my version of "the Twelve Days of Christmas" doesn't it?
LOL
