Default Page ranking help / advise

Right this PR9 etc stuff was bothering me cause i did not know what it was

so i looked it up and installed the google tool bar to find out what my page rank is

I got a 4? is that really bad?

my forum site gets a 2 and my mates site gets a 5?

how do i get this to a good figure

My current alexa rating is 247,827 (3 month avg) but today and this week has been below 150,000

PR is a mathematical formula of the quantity (number) and quality (PR) of links to a site. To improve it, get more links. BUT, PR (PageRank) is only a small part of what goes into ranking a page.

A 4 is easy to get, a 5 is harder and >6, you doing well, IMHO

Ignore Alexa - its meaningless.

You may find some good suggestions to improving your search engine rankings on keyword returns here:

http://www.website-marketing.org/

You may wish to keep in mind that a web page with a PR4 can beat out a page with a PR5 for certain keyword search returns.

Therefore, I would advise you to concentrate your efforts on quality inbound links & improving your pages with solid search enginge optimization techniques.
