Google backlink easily manipulated?

Hi,

Going to google and typing in the search box link:http://www.globalserve.com.au presents over 1,200 links to this website, on visiting the links that reference this website I can see absolutely no link back to them.

Is google really that easy to manipulate?

Some links might come from advertising. I used to advertise on a couple of PPC search engines and Google still shows those links which actually don't exist there any more.

There ARE links to that site on the pages in questions.

Sorry, I am going to lick this thread - we have a sticky at the top of the Google forum on the meaning of the link: command. We have had so many threads in the last week or so on it (even in the last few days), there is no point going over old ground in new threads.
