I have read that Googles "blogs" can help create good PR. Did I shoot myself in the foot by hosting the blog on my server? http://www.wrought-iron-curtain.com/racks.htm Should I have left it on theirs? Or is it like everything else seems to be...very subjective? Any input is greatly appreciated! I am about 4 or 5 mo. into SEO and can tell already, in way over my head! Without forums like this & people like you, I wouldn't have an educated (sometimes not so much) opinion about any of this, let alone do anything about it! Connections made online, even familiar profile pictures, can be comforting! TY to all!
Tyler BTW- Help my ignorant ass stay connected to the internet and facilitate my indulgence in near reality, also help feed my baby....buy wrought iron! rflmao The ethical stand points of all this plague me, especially when manipulation doesn't entail jail time? Dranl too much again...I'm a talker. Sry |

Blogs can really help out and it shouldn't matter where you have it.
But having a blog that has an RSS feed can have a big advantage, but I can't find one on yours. To get the word out on your blog check out the following links. http://www.faganfinder.com/blogs/ http://www.masternewmedia.org/rss/top55/ |

I've also noticed that G is not giving blogs from their own blogger.com much attention. See my other post. |

Feeds don't count as duplicate content at least in my experience, but I know how it feels to be paranoid about it. With all the horror stories you hear, you start thinking "Any wrong move and you're gone forever."
I have a PR3 blog that I listed with most of the blog directories. Every time I post I ping http://pingomatic.com. Last week I did a test on a keyphrase. Within 24 hours, I was number two for the phrase. That was the index page of my blog. Since then I have dropped because new entries pushed that one further down the page, but the archived entry is now in the top 20. A lot of the sites that pingomatic pings get at least their index pages hit by the Googlebot every day. And that means if you write an entry and ping these sites through pingomatic, you have instantly created almost a dozen links back to your site for that day. With the keyword I tested, I made sure it was mentioned in the title of the entry and high in the entry of the blog itself, considering that my feed will only hold the title and the first few sentences of the entry. Hopefully I didn't give too much away there. LOL. But just to let you know, the results surprised me a lot. |

What exactly does pingomatic.com do for you?
