Search Results Doubled

In phrases I watch, just recently noticed that the Google results for certain phrases has more than doubled. In one instance from 960,000 to 2,250,000. Something awry, or tis the season?

Yes. Samething happens to the phrases I am targeting. It seems like google is crawling and index more pages.

I think the google's idea is to index everything, goog or bad. For spamming, it try to figure out algorithms not to rank bad pages high instead of ban a page. The reason is maybe millions of spaming pages are created everyday, google don't have time to identify and ban all of them.

No surprise, they just practically doubled their index, headed into more fierce competition with Microsoft. More results in virtually every search phrase imaginable.

More is more, at all levels, including competition. It is starting to appear that there were some alg adjustments at the same time.

I just find it a bit hard to believe that for search phrases, that all of a sudden find double the number of relevant results. Seems to me they may have tweaked their "relevancy meter".

Guess they were really "Sand-Bagging" on Microsoft, instead of "Sand-Boxing"!
