IMHO, I would forget about it. Israel is way too competitive a term ... besides most of your anchor text of backlinks are for Shimshon (which is why you number one for that). I would guess you need several 100 (if not a 1000) backlinks with Israel as the anchor text if you are even going to come close to the top 10.

Hi,
so what would you suggest me to do, for 'Israel' I have no chance and 'shimshon' is not a popular search term.

How can I find a keyword that is good for me and what should I do to make it up to the top 10?

Thanks,
Shimshon

shimshon,

How about a niche term. Israel + another keyword. Multiple word search terms are what you should be targetting.

Absolutely.

Shimshon, you need to spend some time researching the keywords that people actually search on, then pick a few two or three word terms to optimise for (one or two phrases only per page).

I posted a list of keyword research resources in another thread. I'll paste it in here in case it helps. If there's one fundamental thing that lets a lot of new SEOs down, it's poor keyword research. Spend some time on it - it'll be time invested, not wasted.

Here's a few places I find useful for compiling my keyword lists:

You also have to keep checking it. Ifind that people are now searching less for "flue gas analyzer" and more for "combustion analyzer". Means I have to throw up new pages or change the existing ones. It's a difficult call to make. One way makes you become repetitive, which annoys people who do not care what you call the thing. The other option is also bad,, since it 1. annoys people who do care what it is called and loses the visitors who suddenly decide to look for a flue gas analyzer again.

Remember, you're logs do not tell you what keyword to target, they tell you what you are already targetting!

Where should I place my keywords on my site so they are most effective?

I heard that the meta tag is not that effective?
