Default Internal Linking Problem

My site http://www.natco-online.com has been established for a year. Backlinks on Google have been added VERY slowly but my internal links just dont appear to be showing. If I do a "Link:www.natco-online.com" search on google - only about 6 show up and some of those have a PR of only 2!

The pages appear to be indexed on Google and if you do a linkdomain search on Yahoo, all my internal links from page to page show up. Why are only some and not all of my internal links showing on Google? Can anybody help? Is there something wrong with my coding? Do I need to do something else? What is the difference between the ones that show up on Google and the ones that dont?

Its been like this for about 6 months now, new backlinks were added yesterday (I checked this morning) but I still have the same old number of internal links.

Something is wrong, can anybody help?

Its not a problem and nothing is wrong. See the sticky message at the top of this forum ...

Google has only ever shown sample of backlinks to a site. If a link is not in the sample, it does not mean that Google does not count it.

Default Internal Linking Problem

Thanks for the reply cpb. I read the sticky but not sure it addresses my concern? I understand that not all links are shown on Google.

What I dont understand is how come a competitor can open up shop and in 3 months can have 70 odd links listed on Google all of which are internal links pointing from page to page - no external links to the site (well, only one or two). On the other hand the majority of my links are external and only a few of my internal links show up on Google.

End result, competitor has 70 odd links registering on Google I have 15. They score higher in SERPS. Surely if I have external links (pointing to my site) and all my internal links are registered by Google (although not shown) I should score higher?

Or am I missing something fundamental?

What Google show as backlinks are a random sample - they have no relationship to what Google use to rank a site. Do not draw any conclusions about a site's ranking based on what you see in the backlinks sample - ignore it.

At a guess your competitor shows more inside links due to higher PR, you should check their links on Y! and assume G is also aware of them.

OK, long shot this ;-) might they have their links pointing to inner pages rather than the home page?

Thanks again glengara, going to check this out but I doubt it as all the links are there when you do a Link: search on Google on their home page

Will get back if I spot anything.
