Default Google hates me!

Hi guys! I have been reading the newsletter for quite some time now. Ive decided to actually come to the site for a look see. I like what I see. Im over here because I am having issues with google.

I am ignorant when it comes to search engines. I am still learning. I have one of the top 5 sites for fishing in MN. I am the new guy on the block, and my competition is killing me with there ranking on google. Key word "Minnesota Fishing" in google has me on page 15. I have lots of traffic coming to the site mostly from adwords and word of mouth.
I noticed some time ago that my forums were not getting indexed. So I had someone "google tap" my phbb nuke board 3 weeks ago. Nothing changed, and I assumed that the problem was that the forums were blocked to non members, so I unblocked them about 1 1/2 weeks ago. 2 days ago I saw ip's from inktomi bouncing all around my forums. I am assuming that the forums were being crawled.
Is this right? And when should I notice a change on google. The 2nd search result in google for lakestatefishing shows my forum module with access still denied. How often does google update?

Please help me understand google and to catch up to my competition.

Default Your title tag...

Howdy - lakestatefishing,

One thing you can do to improve your Google PR when it updates, sometimes in 2 week intervals, is to include your keywords within your < title > tag that match up with your keyword-rich page links & text. The < title > tag carries a high degree of weight with many search engines. Be sure to make your < title > tag keywords form a natural sentence as it may be used as your site's description in search engine queries.

Cheers!
Max

Default well..

Change your anchor text to match your primary keywords and add more internal links so that they contain your keywords. This recently moved me from pr2 to pr4.

Also, adjust those keywords and descriptions that are in the title...I remember a hack I had to display the topic name in the title, I will look around and see if I can find it for you.

PHPNuke is a bear sometimes...oh yeah, don't forget that phpbb has a large and friendly community that may be able to help you as well.

It's like google, but lists only items for sale.

if you want to give froogle a feed, simply stick your products into a spead sheet (eg, excel), one product per line (url, product name, description, image url, price, catagory (within your site), and isbn# if it's a book), and upload it froogle.
inclusion happens pretty quick.

type froogle into google to find out more.
