Default Google cached page dilemma

I checked one of our pages yesterday to see when it was the last time Google crawled it and it showed that on 8th of October. It was good because we ranked high with it for a certain keyword, but today I've seen that we lost about 20 places and when I looked at the cached version it said that the last time it was cached was 1st of October. What could have happened? The main page was updated yesterday but the page I'm talking about http://www.backup4all.com/reviews.php seemed like it jumped back in time.
I tried the Google Dance tool but on the other servers, www1, www2...it is the same date for the cached version, 1st of October.
I'm confused, I don't know what could have happened.

Hense, GOOGLE SUCCESS!

Your confused - exactly what they want....

Sometimes it just doesn't make sence....Cause they don't want it too....

There probably just switching data around right now.... It should go back to the latest cache soon enough...

Not saying that this is going to happen but...

The last time I saw something similar was just before a PR update. So Google must be doing updates on their systems.

But you never know...

My statement was not meant to say that a PR update was coming.

It was meant to say that Google is doing a significant reorganisation to their database.

Google has been bouncing around for the last 10 days or more now.

The confusion, I assume, is because you saw a cache date of 10/08 and then later saw a cache date of 10/01. Google has quite a few servers and you just hit different ones. Contrary to what I have read elsewhere, these servers are not all exact mirrors of one another.

Thik about the sheer size of the Google data base. It would be nearly impossible to have them all updated simultaneously.

You're probably right, I'll wait for some days and see what happens. I checked the position on other servers as I said before, www1,2...I just hope the other ones will update too with the same results. I thought it had something to do with a database update, that's why I was asking. About the page rank, well it's hard to beleive they would do it again so soon. Thanks for the answers.

My information is that they have roughly 16000 servers running at the moment.

Well this seems indeed to have been the issue, because since Wednesday we re-appeared in the results and the pages show like they were updated on the 13th of October. So they must have switched some servers.
