Default Im lost in the listings - Where do I start?

Hello,
we are a familly web design business in Southend on Sea Essex. I have been struggling with my search engine ranking for about 2 years. I was until a few months ago ranked at number 1 in google and lycos and a few others under webpage design Essex, and I was even ranked very high for Ecommerce design uk (number one for a little while). But now I am nowhere to be found.

My site address is http://www.DesignsOnline.co.uk
Please can you guide me on what I can do to raise my ratings. We currently use Espotting.com and Google Adwords, but it isnt paying for itself. We cant afford to pay for SEO professionally and besides I want to learn to understand what is required a little better so that the future sites we build will be more Search Engine friendly.

Any help will be greatly appreciated,
Joseph

You may want to post this in the site review section and do a lot of reading here.

At first glance the problem looks like you have absolutly no content on the above listed site, what is there is in Flash.

Default Focus

At a quick glance I'd say you have quite a bit of work to do. You need content and you need focus. Just a quick glance at your title shows that you don't really have any one solid keyword target.

Don't use s shotgun approach to keyword selection, go with a sniper approach and focus on whatever the best single phrase is. You've got multiple pages to work with so deal with other phrases on other pages and keep your homepage for the highest priority phrase.

There's an article posted at http://www.webpronews.com/webdevelop...sitioning.html that might give you some suggestions for ways to optimize your homepage that won't affect the look-and-feel you're going for.

Good luck !
