What is google's algorithm of ranking

Google published the algorithm of page rank. But I never see a publication of the ranking algorithm. Is this because the algorithm is their key of success? I bet it is.

But is there a way to find out the algorithm? Or maybe just an algorithm close to the real one?

Can anybody tell me?

Thank you CBP. That's also what I thought. Now the question is can we do some testing to acutally find out their algorithm? I am sure it is worthwhile to do and a lot of people here will be interested in the testing.
