I have a problem. My site has enjoyed top 10 placement for almost the past year on google. This last serp update I was pulled from the serps. The reason I believe is for the past few months I have had a company building a new site to get away from the current site which was built online which I use a 301 redirect to with my www.qsiwholesale.com name
The only change in the past month is I set up another domain and host at the request of the people building the site so they could upload products etc. start to test the site. I asked that a robots.txt be put in so it would not be spidered which they said they would do. They did not do this. I see today that after I e-mailed them the site they are building is now not reachable online at www.sterling-silver-wholesale.com and they are probably now using just the IP Any ideas how to get out of the so called "penalty box" with google? Can you give us some more info - its not clear to me what you are asking.
www.qsiwholesale.com redirects to http://wholesalesilver.safeshopper.com/ which is listed in Google (the home page is cached) As you said www.sterling-silver-wholesale.com is down, but there are 2 paqes from it in Google. Not having a robots.txt would not necessarily have been a problem - the only way it would have got into Google is if there are links to it. CBP |

Basically I was asking if I was penalized and how to fix that since I did look on the log of the site they were building and it showed google had spidered it. Then suddenly I disappeared from the serps and google is now showing zero links to my site even though the PR4 and higher sites that link to me still have me linked. It was the only thing I could think of other than the 301 redirect but I haven't had any problems with that this year and was always in the top listings. I could understand a drop in page ranks but the only way I can find the site now is directly typing in the name. It still shows PR4 on the toolbar. |
