Backlinks Updated?

I just checked my backlinks and they jumped from 102 to 109. Anyone see any changes in theirs?

Oh great. I found a backlink that is #440-something out of 520 on a BananaWebsiteMarketing link list.

I have to admit, that this is cool .... there is a backlinks change and they have become so routine only a few people bother posting on it ... no more of the endless threads about what happened!!! ... guess I just hold my breath for the PR update thread :-)

No changes in Google this side of the pond, but I see changes in Yahoo.
CBP, don't tempt me, there is nothing on TV this evening! Nothing like a good argument to liven things up!

Ok I will give you a what happend. My backlinks disappeared and so did I. I checked and the ones that google showed before are still linking to me. How can that happen?

That happens during an update. Check tomorrow, things should have settled down by then.

I went from a PR6 --> PR0, and my backlinks dropped from 236 to 2 about 3 weeks ago ... and no changes recently ...

My internal pages are mostly 5's and 4's.

At first my search rankings were high and stable but over the past week they have been dropping one spot almost daily.

So Monday I was holding at #2 or #3 for most of my keywords and today I am at #8 or #9 ...

I didn't make any major or minor changes ... hmmmm ...

I unfortunately am not seeing any backlink changes

For my primary site which is about 4 months old, backlinks went from 27 to 39 about 5 days ago. But, I received no Google alerts.

Also, indexed pages containing my url (found with @www.myurl.com) jumped from about 870 to 1500. And I've seen a major change in position. For my 2nd most competitive phrase (pool 40k) I went from #27 to #15. For my most competitive phrase (pool 1200k), I went from #195 to #85.

I'm quite pleased with the progress, but feel that what I'm seeing today is based on page stats and link count from about 6 weeks ago. I hope I'm right. If so, my position should improve further with the next update.

Lastly one major change is that within the first 15 listings for my 2nd phrase, about 10 are directories. Most are in the SERPS because *I* listed with them. My description is shown for most. While it's nice to see my description, they are in effect pushing me onto SERP 2.

So, I've put a half dozen outbound links on my default page, in the hope of looking more like a directory or blog. We'll see what happens.
