Question on how Google follows links
We just launched on new redesign after 36 hours ago and Googlebot has started crawling thru it. I have a couple questions on the paths that google follows.
1)I'm a rental property company and display multiple photos on my homepage with links to the properties. Google follows those links and goes to the detailed info. It then follows all the links on that page (contact owner, map, flyer, etc.), some of which require a login.ONce Google gets tired, it'll go to the next property detail page, and on and on.
QUESTION: Is there a way to tell Google to not go so deep and only specify which files to look at? I know I can use the robots.txt file to stop directories, but files too??
2)I appears that google will only browse through some of my photos, then disappears. When it visited yesterday, it browsed about 5 detail pages from my homepage and followed the links in my footer. But, it did not follow my images in the header that have an HREF tag.
QUESTION:Does google not like these kind of links to other pages?
QUESTION: Does Google eventually give up at a certain point? I ask because why did it only follow 5 photo links to detail pages on my homepage and not all 15?
