What is an entry page?

This maybe a silly question, but if its what I think it is then my site never be listed in google. My site is a service for people that are looking for broadband and I offer service in over 1500 cities across america. I have built a page for each city location. They are slowly being indexed in Yahoo and AOL, but Google isn't picking them up. I also have placed links on my home page so that google can crawl them. Is this going penalize my in google?

What you have right is an entry page. Moreover, it does what an entry page is intended to do. It gives your visitors the gist of who you are, what you do, and how and why they can make use of. It then links to all the subordinate pages that give them the speciifcs that apply to their situation.
