Default No PageRank on my website since 3 months

Hello,

I published my website about 3 months ago, It does list on google. So if i search with my domain name i can see my listing.

However, I still do not have a PR!

I know of websites that have been published about a month a go and has got PRs or 1-2 already.

I use a PHP website, but I am also using mod rewrite to make SEFURLS. so i dont think that can be an issue.

Is google penalizing me for anything that i am doing?

Or is it normal not to have PRs for some websites for months together?

Kindly assist on what should i be doing.

Thanks
hk

Hi there

The same thing is happening with 2 of my sites (http://www.propertytalaash.com and http://www.linuxbrats.com) also. I did a research on this and found out that this is called the SANDBOX Effect. Sandbox effect is to discourage people to buy links form quality sites. Your site will soon get its PR.

Cheers

Default I just checked it on google toolbar

Sandbox effect! well, i hope to see a change soon then as its almost about 3 months now.

I checked on google toolbar to see they have page ranks of atleast 1.

All i know now is that they do have a PR and I dont :(

I am not a SEO to know about the detail scheules of google... but feel frustrated not to have page ranks when others do.

Should i do link exchange? would that help?

Thanks

Don't jump to conclusions re the sandbox ... while there does apear to be such an effect, most sites that claim to be sandboxed, just rank poorly.

Well they must be older than 2 months if they have PR, as Google have not upated the toolbar since late June.

Be patient. Get more links.

Default Link exchanges

another problems arises when I consider link exchange... sites with good PR doesnt really want to consider us for link exchange.

And sites with no PR is a issue coz we do not know if that site is bad or peanilized by SE.

What should be our approach with this?

any thoughts?

Thanks

Hello hetul.

Google hasn't updated toolbar PR since June, so sites launched since then will all show a pr-0.

I'm having exactly the same problem. I am not an SEO specialist of any kind so may actually be doing something completely wrong. But my url http://www.themoneymagazine.com is ignored as far as ranking goes with google.

I also tried registering with DMOZ about 3 months ago too and that has so far been ignored. I am getting very little traffic and pretty much nothing from search engines.

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

I can only find couple of links to your site - if you want to get noticed in search engines, especially for the finance related keywords you appear to be targeting, you will need 1000's. Its a very competitive area.

Go to www.resource-zone.com to check on the status of your site (please read forum rule first).

From what I can tell your site has not yet been reviewed (but I can not tell if its waiting). HOWEVER, the most common reason a site does not get listed is a lack of unique content that does not add value to the category. As your forum is empty, it may be hard to get listed (I do not editor in that part of the directory so I am only guessing)

Google hasn't updated toolbar PR for about 3 months so it isn't that strange that PR in your site doesn't show yet.

Can you show us which sites got that new PR within the last month? As far as most people are concerned that shouldn't be possible. Perhaps we can learn something from these sites.

Thanks,

Not sure what happened to this site.

Use to get some nice traffic from google searches, had a PR, somewhere around May, traffic died down and PR was gone. Might have been penalized to Article names

Well, I had high PR but have since lost my PR ranks. Yet my serps have risen so that they are actually #1.

Anyone know how this can happen?

Here's the specifics:

Greetings. I've recently returned to the online world from a long vacation and noticed that my site pages that used to have PR5 and PR4 rankings no longer have such and now have 0's.

Oddly, the rankings are still high and the site still ranks #1 in the targeted keywords.

Does anyone know why this could be?

If Google had flagged me wouldn't my pages be removed all together instead of just losing their PR ranks?

Any feedback would be great.

Also, does anyone know what I should do to get the PR values back?

The site is http://collegesportsinfo.com and the targeted keywords are "ncaa message boards" and "conference relaignment" as well as "college sports" to a lesser extent.

Thanks

Quinn
