Why is this site at the #1

Hello after a while.

I need somebody experienced to help me answer this:

A site hosted at a freehost (quick.cz) with almost no backlinks comes #1st at a relatively
competive query.
It is well ahead of not only my own site (my site is in the state left from "early" times, when I just started to learn SEO), but many others, well optimised sites.

I am asking because I plan to get at the top myself, but have no idea what is going on there.

That website is at the top because most people are optimizing for 'web design' instead of 'webdesign' as one word. So any of his links use that specific term, and it is also in his title tag, in his page text & even in his url. Get at least a dozen links using that term and include it in the right spots on your page. Then you should be able to get to the top for that term. The most important thing though....link anchor text.

Thank you but the explanation is should be fairly less trivial than you are thinking. This site is well ahead of many sites thoroughly optimised on webdesign, take my word for this. By the way, my sucking GPR6 page optimised for this world has dosens "webdesign" anchor text links. Most are from forums, but some are good. I take the pain and despite my terrible english, published several "webdesign optimised" articles on authority sites (one of them is SearchGuild), with optimised anchor text links to my webdesign page. Still I am bouncing between 22 and 99, depending if Google decides to put some weight on the forum links or not. And there are many other, strongly optimised websites, after this free host site! I would suspect a link farm, but how to find a proof???
