Default PR Dropped Off the Face of the Earth

My site, chicagolandwedding.com, really got killed in the algorithm fiasco back in February (went from SERP rankings of #1 through #6 for a variety of search terms to results in the 200's through 800's). It is now finally back on top in the SERPs and all of the sudden, my PR dropped from 4/10 for my main page to 0/10 overnight.

First, I can't figure out why or I would fix it immediately. Any ideas? Secondly, since Google only updates Page rank every, I think, 4-6 weeks, I'm thinking that I'm screwed and am stuck at 0/10 for at least the next month...please tell me if this is wrong. And third, will a drop to 0/10 directly affect my rankings in the SERPs and, if so, how fast can I expect them to dive?

Any thoughts, help, direction is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Kim.

It prob a technical glitch as your iner pages have PR - check the several other threads that we have had on this - don't have time to find them. A lot of sites are reporting this.

Just one quick questions... will this drop me down in the SERPs over the next month before Google updates my PR again?

No... no drop yet. Just wondering if I should expect one. I'm assuming that since Google uses PR to rank sites in the SERPs, I can expect to drop. It seems like every time I get back up around the top three spots on Google, they do something to screw me up again. Advertisers sign on with me because of where I come up in the Google SERPs; every time Google does something to screw that up, I lose and so do the vendors who advertise with me. My only alternative then is to pump more money into AdWords...and that blows.

Google use a very different PR to what is shown in the toolbar - when PR is publically updated via the toolbar, it has already been factored into the search results - some believe as much as 2 weeks prior to the public update.

This might sound harsh.... but if you have a business model that is dependent on a FREE ranking in Google or any SE, then its time to change the business model.

Didn't realize that about the PR... thanks for the info. As for the "free" advertising, of course, we're not totally dependent upon free listings with Google and, in fact, we use AdWords and various other paid advertising resources. When you're getting excellent ranking in the SERPs though, it does take some of the edge off spending the advertising dollars which, in turn, is passed on to our advertisers. Also, when you have to spend so much time optimizing for Google and adjusting to their algorithm fluxuations, can anything Google be considered "free?" Just a thought....
