Image Search

Has anyone had any success with the google image search? I am constantly modifying www.fireworks.com and we are usually ranked in the top 3 rankings for "fireworks", can't seem to get above macromedia (go figure)

So I figured I would now try my luck now with the image search. However it has been 2 months and still no high ranking with "fireworks" in the image search. Is there something I am missing? I have graphics all over the site named fireworks.jpg, fireworks.gif and even an entire photo contest with all of the thumbnails fireworks-randomnumber-thumb.jpg

Secondly, is it even worth it, in terms of visitors? Is there a way of finding out how many people use the image search, what keywords there searching?
