Google in the eyes of webmasters has become very frustrating - why you may ask?

- design a new website, and then wait for nine months for the website to be within the search engine results.

- get 1,000 links to your domain and Google only reports 200, how annoying is that?

- indexing of internal pages can take an age in my experience, my site has being live 3 years, and it's only just indexed every page on the website.

Where MSN and Yahoo has improved on indexing of sites, highlighting how many links a domain has, and appears to be alot quicker at indexing internal pages (MSN appears super quick on this!)

The downside to MSN and Yahoo is that they don't appear to cache the pages as quick, and it can take a little longer than Google to show the new version of say the homepage.

With the introduction of longhorn operating system will we see the demise of Google for search engine technology?

We'll see ...

No they don't - they update them daily internally - they only export a sample of them for us to see every few months. This public export (update) has nothing to do with rankings.

I'm curious as to whether page rank has run its course and is no longer a viable means of determining page importance. I have not seen a page rank change on new pages since Oct 7th. Today is Feb 2nd. I use both html based and Google site maps and have very clear navigation throughout the website, so there is no question about spiders finding the pages.

I often tell people to not place any weight on the rank of a page when requesting link exchanges because the exchange of traffic should not be for the sole purpose of attempting to increase your web site popularity, but at the same time, we are all aware that a page with a rank of 4, may be getting more traffic than a rank of 3...so it's hard to just ignore this.

My issues is that I had added new resource categories several months ago and even renamed a few files to be better descriptive of the page. I used 301 redirects to properly forward any change in file names, with the understanding that this passes the page rank to the redirected page. Meanwhile, almost 4 months have gone by and these pages still sit at page rank 0...along with any and all other pages added since October...right before Jagger...which initially dropped me from Google from October 16th to December 27th (the Christmas Season).

In a nutshell, what is now the period of time between page rank updates, specifically for new pages?...and, has page rank, due to long delays in its updating, been deemed as having little or no value anymore?

Thanks

Default Google Ad Words

That's a great question! And I would like to know how I can move up my links up (higher) in searches (so that they are in the first results during searches).

Btw, I already got Ad Words from Google.
