Default Understanding different search results in each server

I can not understand why there is different results for the same search in the google.com that in the google.es or google.co.uk.

How this work?

Do Google consider the IP address of the user or of the server?

I am doing the search from Spain in .com and .es for a web site oriented to the US market. And the result is 6º in spain and 96º in USA.

Anybody knows?

Thanks in advance

Umm... I count more than 7 Google datacenters just for Google.com, not even considering Google.es or google.co. uk. :)

No one really knows much of anything about Google and I wouldn't trust anyone who tells you otherwise.

That disclaimer being made, I believe that Google uses the domain name of the server.

Google really can't use the IP address of the server, because:
  • 1. Many foreign servers (including .co.uk!) are hosted in the U.S.
    2. IP addresses are not neatly tied to geography. One network range could span several continents.

I do not believe it would make sense for Google to use the IP address or domain name of the searcher. In addition, the fact that I can get to google.es from Colorado makes that scenario seem unlikely.

Default Thanks for your opinions, but ...

Really. Is hard to understand.

I have check the servers for the google.com and all shows the same results but the servers that works for the regional domains not.

Which is the criteria to differenciate results in the .com from the regionals?

I don't know and I haven't found any info about.

Thanks

Antonio
