Default How much pr6 linkbacks will make you pr 7?

I mean, how much linkbacks from pr6 webs will make our webs got pr7 ? And is that a same number from pr5 to pr6, pr 3 to pr4 etc.?

Definitely, who know, what is the statistic of click rate(possibility) of pr1 ,pr 2, pr 3,pr4,pr5,pr6,pr7,pr8,pr9,pr10??

Thanks,

I am just a beginner in China, baby's nonsense voice may confuse you besides my poor English capability

The number of backlinks it will take is dependant on the PR of the linking page divided by the number of outbound links.

The PR you mention (PR1 etc) from the google toolbar is not true PR but a graphic representation of PR. It is generally agreed that it takes something like 6 or 7 times more effort to go up each succeding step, ie it will take 7 times more linking effort to go from a PR4 to a PR 5 as compared with going from a PR3 to a PR4.

In the case of you site having a PR6 it would probably take only one or two links from a PR7 site with no other links on it to go to PR7, or 100-200 links from PR7 sites with 100 links on them, or some similar combination or other PRs and links.

PR has no connection with click thru rates, which are dependant on things like your pages ranking in the search engine and how well the SERP description of you ranking page fits the idea of what the searcher is looking for.

to Mel:

Cool!!
You are a real expert!! I know a lot from what you told to me here.

Well, the sample is confuse me:
http://www.cnefly.com have only a backlink from http://dir.sohu.com/computer/internet/computer_website/. And the later have some 480 outbound link.
If the later's pr is 4,former's pr should be lower than 4,but,the ture is its pr is 4 too.

How can us explain this? I think there must be other verious parameter effect pr's definition, right?

To my surprise, and many others, my site has a PR of 5 with only 25 backlinks.... Most of my backlink sites are between PR 3 and 7.... I see most sites have over 50 backlinks to get PR5, so, I'm not sure how my PR is calculated.

Anyone enlighten me?

Default Peter:I think main reason is that your got high pr linkback

to Peter:

I think main reason is that your got high pr linkback.

Sometimes , Only a pr7 linkback to you site can possibly make your site being pr 6, in condition that the pr7 page contain not too much links

Sheer number of backlinks don't necessarily tell the story. I have several client sites with less than 12 backlinks and have a pr5. Then again, I have a couple with nearly 100 backlinks with pr 5 also

Are you counting your own internal backlinks? They count just as much as external backlinks.

The latest issue of SiteProNews contains an interesting article by Bob Wakfer, owner of Computer Partners ( bob@compar.com ) and includes a link to a chart he's developed. It makes fascinating (horrifying?) reading and can be found at:

What an excellent page! So essentially to take my site from a PR 5 to a PR 6, I need 101 links from PR 5 pages... Looks like I have my work cut out then!
