I checked our site using http://www.keyworddensity.com and was surprised to see that keywords mentioned in meta-descriptions and meta-keywords are not detected.
Here is how meta-keywords tag looks like at our site : <meta http-equiv="keywords" content="aaa,bbb,...">. I noticed that most sites use <meta name="keywords" content="">. Can that be a reason why keywords in our meta-tags do not detected?

There are a whole lot of sites in which you can you can check keyword density etc - some include the meta tag keywords - some don't. We do not really know if Google counts them as part of keyword density, but we do know they have no effect in Google for ranking purposes, so don't worry about it.

I think that the importance of metatags like keyword or description are very low.
I think that google only see the title and robot metatags and the content of your webpage (text basically).
