Incoming links

I have a fairly new site. I have a normal link exchange program going to my links page at http://www.romanticsingles.com/partners.

My question is this...

Is there a big benefit to having these links on my home page? The incoming links go to the home page. I really want to keep the home page simple. That's my concept.

Any suggestions to improve my rankings besides adding more text.

Hi Jerry,

I would consider the biggest problem is the text. "What text?" you say. Exactly.

As you say that you're working on that at the moment, I'm sure that you're aware of it, but I'll say it anyway. There is nothing on your homepage to spider.

That and increasing your IBLS with anchor text.

And no. Don't put your OBLs on your home page. It'll do you no favours, just make the page cluttered.
